Dynatrac Pro-Series Differential Cover Reviews
The Dynatrac cover is the gold standard. I peeled back the stock rear diff cover on my JKUR on my first trip tp the Rubicon. It started leaking just a bit and the bolts were ground so bad I couldn’t get them off to fix on the trail. Once home (Rubicon is an amazing and difficult trail by the way), I replaced with this cover. The cover is VERY heavy duty and lower bolts are all recessed into the cover to prevent trail damage. I’ve been dragging this cover around the granite rocks on the trails of central cal the last couple months with absolutely no damage. One of the best upgrades I’ve done!
Very nice piece of protection, for piece of mind.
Overall, this is a very nice looking, solid differential cover. My complaint is with the hardware that is supplied with the cover. My unit shipped with 5/16" 12 point bolts. I ran into 2 issues. The first is that even with a thin walled 5/16" socket, the bottom bolt is too close the the rib and difficult to get in without the possibility of rounding over the head. The second is it came with all the same length bolts and the two on top should be longer, because the bolt holes are not recessed in this area. I had to scramble and pick up socket cap screws for the 3 bolts that I had to change the hardware on. I have read that some of the pro series come with socket caps from Dynatrac, not sure why this one did not. I now need to order all new Grade 8 yellow zinc socket caps, so I have the best possible hardware installed. For the price, these should have shipped with them.
