Surco J600 Hardtop Rack Adapters for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK

I didn’t want to drill holes through my top, and I had a hard time finding alternatives. But this rack works great and looks great on my 2 door (I only got the cross bars because I wanted this to be more functional than a basket rack and it was much cheaper. I paired it with the Urban Rack Cross bars.)

The installation is very easy, although you do have to lift up the top in order to get the rear adapters on so you’ll probably need more than one person. The rack can go anywhere on the hardtop, along the gutter rails or on the rear section.

My only complaints are that some of the pieces have poor build quality, although most are hidden from view. One of the cross bars was missing a hole but I was able to drill it out myself and it worked fine, it got covered by the end caps anyways. Also, not exactly the adapters fault but I waited 3 and a half months for these on back order, so beware. The cross bars that I got for these adapters should be longer and look a little funny because of their shortness, and the whole thing whistles LOUDLY. The whistling from the cross bars was so loud I couldn’t flush it out with the radio. This is more to do with the cross bars than the adapters but just something to keep in mind, I expected it to whistle but not as much as it does.

Overall, 4 stars. This rack gives me much more versatility in my 2 door, since I daily drive it I needed some more space, and now I can carry anything from my skis to an overland tent (small of course). It’s certainly not perfect, but I think it will work for me when I need it to. For now, I’m taking it off because the whistling is too annoying, but I can recommend this for people who don’t want to go too over board on their Jeep.
