Rugged Ridge Factory Soft Top Replacement Hardware Reviews
Over all this is a good fit on my 04 TJ. It does have all the hardware you need. I had a hard top only when I got my Jeep. I bought this with the Rugged Ridge Soft Top. They went together fairly easy. Now for the down side. The screws will have to be put in with a hand screw driver, Do Not use a power driver as you will strip out the screw heads and may not get them tight. Also the Bolt/screws for the Door surrounds seem to go in very hard, hopefully they will come out when I want them to. But over all it was a fairly easy install.
At first I was pleased with this hardware when it arrived. I was pleasantly surprised that it had all the necessary hardware even parts that would have been more that 100 if I had to purchase them separately. I could do a complete removal and replacement with all new hardware.
Then I looked at the instructions, they had poor descriptions and poor photos to go with them so added a little difficulty but didn't seem to be too difficult to figure out.
Then I started the assembly and wow, nothing was drilled to the proper size, the instructions referenced pre-drilled holes which were not there and they even had the wrong screws added in several of the bags so was a nightmare trying to get the thing together. I was still ready to be completely satisfied if the top hardware worked properly though. I struggled through and finished the installation of the hardware.
Finally I started to put the top up for the first time and the hinge just fell apart. After 4 hours of frustration and struggling to get this thing together, now I just don't trust the quality of the material . Not sure what to do here but let's see if Quadratec comes through; I will update this review when this is resolved.
