Does this roof rack require drilling or or goes on the lip of roof.
It does not require drilling if you have a factory hardtop. It connects to the hardtop rain gutters. Thanks for your inquiry.

Can I use this to mount a rooftop tent?
No, it would not. It's max capacity is 150 lbs which 60-75 lbs estimated weight of a roof top tent would not leave any excess capacity for the weight of adults. Thanks for your inquiry.
