Quadratec Starter Motor Reviews
I was having issues with Autozone remanufactured starters. I didn’t know what the problem was. I had to drop my transmission twice with two different Autozone starters due to grinding on the flywheel. Both times there were no issues with the flywheel. The second time around I did replace the flywheel but that didn’t work either. I decided to purchase this starter to install it as a last resort to everything I tried to remedy the problem. When I received this starter, I compared it to the newly acquired rebuilt starter. Old starter had lots of play with the gear and shaft. New QT starter very tight with no play. Travel of rebuilt starter gear measured short from new starter. QT starter had an extra eight inch travel. Rebuilt starter gear showed signs of being worn down. New QT starter gears new and crisp. Biggest thing was the mounting hole that doesn’t have the threads. The rebuilt starter had about an eight of an inch larger hole from wear which caused the starter to be too far from the ring gear. The QT starter was the proper size and to specs. Once the QT starter was installed the grinding stopped. I would recommend purchasing this starter any day over a rebuilt starter. The downside of a new starter is having to wait for it. I did spend the extra money for expedited shipping so I had it in three days. Not to bad considering that getting a rebuilt is usually a one day wait at the parts store. Next time I need a starter I will shop QT.
good quality
This order arrived here quick and functioned as it should. However it did have a dent in the solenoid cover, but it did not affect its performance. I am satisfied with it. I previously
bought a rebuild unit from a local auto parts store that did not last but a few months.
