OMIX Thermostat Housing Reviews
I've had this thermostat in my Jeep for less than a year, and during that time I've had to frequently deal with P0128 codes, as the temperature will rarely rise above 185 degrees (only rising above that if the engine is run hard and heat-soaked). Mfr. spec. is 195 degrees for thermostat opening. The specs listed here say 203 degrees, but the specimen I installed is clearly not that.
This Omix Ada thermostat housing lasted 3 only months in my rig. One of the black plastic clips that hold the thermostat into the plastic housing fractured and the spring pressure caused the thermostat to partially pop out and wedge into the water passage in my engine. Net result is my rig threw a CEL and codes for thermostat stuck open, which is how I discovered the black plastic clip had fractured. Lack of adequate quality controls at Omix Ada.
