Does the mirror have a built-in blind spot detector? Or is there a seperate sensor that needs to be installed into the vehicle?
The blindspot monitors are located inside the rear bumper cover and are not part of the mirror. The mirror just connects to the vehicle BSM system and illuminates the triangle when an object is detected within the pre-determined area. If you are looking to add the BSM to your Jeep, it's fairly in depth: You need the side looking radars (Mounted in the rear bumper), mirrors, controller, wiring-harness, & have the dealership program the computer for them ($100+/-).
