Are these side specific, also are these an upgrade for larger tires?
This shaft fits left or right side. It is not an axle shaft upgrade. It is direct fit for the Wide Dana 44 rear axle that Max tow package Jeeps come equipped with. Thanks for your inquiry.

No, you need a new axle housing to accommodate the longer axles
