MasterTop Summer Combo Top Plus in Black Diamond Reviews
Super easy to install but make sure its warm out when you do. The straps need to be longer especially for the wind jammer and the velco around the roll bar above the doors. It looks great. i like the fact the the windjammer zips together with the Tonneau cover, and the windjammer window unzips and can be folded down. The rear straps that attach the back of top to the rollbar kept loosening up and flapped in the wind, had to buy some velcro cord straps to secure them and keep them from coming undone. Looks good, easy to install, overall great product so far.
Ordered this complete setup tire cover also,every thing fit great,went on smoothly and looks good,took out for a little 50mile run to check it out, it worked great, only complaint and I read this on several reviews was for the windjammer all the straps were to short for going around the roll bars ,it still went on but it was a little trouble with the short straps.If they would just add 1 extra inch that would help tremendously, now this is was for the top,the tension strap that goes under the top and provides center tension was about a foot short no way it was going to work so I added an extension strap to it and it worked fine I'll add a pic for it,if it wasn't for the short straps I would rate it a five,but I'll give it a four.
Do not purchase this set if you have a 2004 with hard top.
Header channel issues:
Factory seal is not compatible with the Smitybilt header channel it arrived with causing it to rock back on interior side of seal when tightened and windshield side to point up. Plastic driverside end arrived cracked at forward screw hole. Probably from shipping but very flimsy to begin with.
Bimini Top Plus issues:
Top is too tight in places it shouldn't be and too loose in places it should be tight.
Main center strap can not be tightened enough to firmly attach front edge into header and tighten top between header and sport bar causing lots of slack in material. This is partly due to Smitybilt header not fitting properly with factory seal.
Poor fit above doors.
Instructions show three sets of Velcro on each side. This one came with just two per side and one was poorly stiched causing it to separate from top when peeled apart to wrap around the bar. Even if there was three straps, no amount of heat and tension would cause the edge to reach the bottom of the bar or fasten correctly. Installation is without the surrounds and in 80° temps.
Incorrect fit over sport bar.
Large gaps on both sides at speakers and poochie sag in center.
Do not know if the rest of the set has issues. After the fitment of those two parts I'll be returning them in opened. Will be add photos to show these issues in the morning after calling to initiate a return.
This top does not fit a 2004 TJ equipped with factory hard and soft top.
