Kentrol BackSide LED License Plate Mount Reviews
This is really well made, nice thick metal and was a perfect fit. There are plenty of videos online on how to disassemble your tire carrier and trim panels, so recommend studying up if you haven't done it. But this bolted on smoothly and the wiring was a great fit. I got this and the fishbone mako bumper in the picture and they look great together.
It recommends running wires through the vents. I didn't do that, I took the time to run the wires through the grommets and sheath to really make it look stock.
Only possible comment is there is an opening on top, and I'm not sure if rain/dirt would have any effect on the connector for the camera. I've been out in the rain with it and no issues so far, but I'll probably make a steel cover for that at some point.
The Kentrol 80718 fits well and works well; the wiring takes quite a bit of work including disassembly of covers. I didn’t want the cable running outside through the original body plug so I rerouted it through the body vent behind the plate, put the empty plug back in place and filled it with black caulk. I also used several zip ties on the wiring for a neater job.
This is an excellent spare delete and license plate/brake light/camera relocation plate. You have the space to run the wires through the tailgate vent or through the sides. It does fit over the plastic vent assembly perfectly--but it takes a bit of care to make sure the wires are not getting pinched between it and the plate in order for that perfectly flush fit.
My only qualm is the position of the camera; while it retains decent clarity, the fact that it is lower and closer to the tailgate results in the bumper filling up a bigger portion of the field of view. The guidance lines are also calibrated for the factory location, so you need to look carefully as you are reversing or parking to get used to the distances represented.
