HyLine OffRoad Louvered Hood Panel Reviews
The louvers came packaged well. The template they sent was perfect. It made cutting out the holes in the hood so easy. Instructions were great.
Looks great easy to install and helps with heat soak
Take the time to place and measure steel stencil patterns on your Bonnet (Hood) I completely taped all outer edges of each stencil with masking tape when correctly placed, for drilling holes I used an annular cutter drill bit instead of the drill, I didn't remove the bonnet, (as instructions say) instead with stencils in place closed Bonnet and covered the engine bay with a spark blanket, and masked over all outer panel joins when Bonnet placed down in closed position so drilling and sanding swarf won't cause rust issues, Drill the same size holes as the patterns when fitting vents they just fit (these have lots of studs, found only a couple needed to file out slightly, and I placed 4 mm double sided tape under vents to seal to bonnet as on the beach allot and sand gets everywhere, engine temp dropped 15 degree Celsius which was a major benefit for my XJ as well in stop start traffic and hot summer days stuck in traffic and no wind, engine still runs slightly cooler than without vents, Heavy rain if vehicle parked for the day water is in there but never had a problem starting but water is around the main belts, they can squeak on the odd time on start up, and have had water around spark system haven't lost spark to any cylinders but close to (do a warm up before driving), driving in Heavy rain never had any issues. I'm pleased with the vents and they look great.
