Fishbone Offroad Entry Guards Reviews
Nice fit. Good amount of adhesive tape. Overall very good.
So far fit well and do the job well. Look good . Time will tell if they hold up.
Pros: (1) Appearance: Great looking door guards. I despise company logos on products, especial oversized ones that look like they were designed by a friend/family member using PowerPoint, but cosmetically these guards are exactly what I was looking for. They do have a small Fishbone Offroad logo, but it looks cool and stylized. (2) They're made of a soft rubberized material, it may be plastic, I'm not sure. It's the type of material that looks durable and like it can take a beating.
Cons: (1) Fitment: For the most part, the guards conform nicely to the contours of the entry, unfortunately the rear part of the front door guard that raps over the top sticks up about 3 mm from the surface. It could probably be “encouraged” to conform to the correct shape with some extra strong mounting tape, I’ll need to see what I can find. (2) Tape and Adhesion: The preinstalled tape that comes with these is very thick, plus it peeled off when attempting to remove the backings. I tried applying firm pressure across the entire surface, before removing the backing, it didn’t help. The provided tape will not stick to this material. I went out and purchased some thin M3 automotive tape (expensive) and used it instead. Unfortunately, the M3 tape won’t stick to the guards either. I toyed with installing the driver’s door for over an hour, but the tape won’t stick to the material. I've never encountered this type of issue. I’m going to see if I can find some tap that’s designed to adhere to soft rubberized surfaces. If I can’t find any, the guards are worthless.
