Crown Automotive 52853431AA Front Drive Shaft for 07-10 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK and Commander XK with Quadra-Trac II

When Jeep was back-ordered on OEM front drive shafts I was forced to seek an alternative. I purchased the Crown version assuming that it would be an adequate replacement, but my Jeep exhibited a driveline vibration at speeds above 65 mph with this drive shaft installed. Assuming that I probably just got a bad one, Quadratec sent me another to try. Same problem. I actually put the original, worn-out drive shaft back in to ensure that I wasn't feeling something that had been there all along, and even worn out, the OE shaft exhibited no vibration.

Luckily, enough time had passed during the time that I was fiddling with the Crown drive shafts that an OEM version was back in stock. The OEM drive shaft eliminated the low-speed clunking from the worn out original and eliminated the vibration from the Crown replacement.

I must say that Quadratec's customer service has been helpful during the process. I'm out $300 +/- for installation charges from having to install and remove two bad Crown parts, but Quadratec was super quick to send out new parts and provide return shipping for the parts I returned.
