Crown Automotive Upper Shock Bracket Reviews
Perfect fit
Have ordered and received two upper shock absorber mounting brackets . They will be used on a 1973 Jeep CJ5 . They match the original mounting brackets perfectly .the original brackets have four holes as do the quadratic / crown replacement . As originally mounted on the Jeep’s chassis , one outer hole on one side and one inner hole on the other side was originally used . No explanation why there are two sets of holes but the replacements will mount exactly as the original did . I believe they would mount similarly on the front upper brackets as well . They seem to be a very sturdy part , certainly more so than the old , fatigued brackets I am replacing . A nylon lock nut is included but a galvanized or stainless washer will need to be obtained . Luckily the chassis is of C channel design and is open ( not boxed ) at this location or I would have to obtain rivets as was originally installed . Grade 8 hardware will be used to complete the installation . Thank you quadratic / crown for making these parts available .
This was not an exact fit for 1965 cj5, but it was close enough that with some modification it worked. None of the holes lined up exactly with the original holes in the frame. The product seems well made and should last.
