Crown Automotive 8.25 HD Differential Cover Reviews
Installing this diff cover destroyed my Chrysler 8.25 rear diff on my 92 Cherokee XJ. I found out that aftermarket diff covers do not allow for the stock fluid movement and it starved my pinion of lubrication and cooling.
I rebuilt the diff using Yukon gears and in less than a year they're shredded. Only reason I can think of is this diff cover. It caused my rear axle seals to blow out and gush diff oil all over the ground. I had to buy/install a stock-style diff cover.
Be careful if you do that, you cannot use the bolts from this aftermarket diff cover because they're longer than stock so you'll have to buy the oem cover bolts with the stock-style diff cover.
2 stars because it looks good, it's crazy thick, and I normally like Crown products - but also I'm likely going to have to re-rebuild my rear diff.
