Bestop Sun Bikini Extended Mesh Top Reviews
Just received my Safari style Bestop Sun Bikini Top and installed it on my 2018 Rubicon JL. I am disappointed. First of all, the directions were incorrect. It says there should be 10 straps, screws and clips for the 10 attachment points, but with my top, there are only 8 attachment points on my top. Only 8 screws, straps and clips were shipped. Two of the snap stud screws came apart when I was adjusting the straps and were not salvageable. I had to order more. The rear straps are not installed as the directions say they should be. It works, but it is not per the directions.
I have not taken this out on the road yet, but overall I am disappointed for the amount of money I spent on this. If you are going to buy this, do yourself a favor and order more #8 x 5/8" snap stud screws.
I will revisit this review after I had it a few weeks.
CAREFUL. I have the safari style shade bikini top for my 2020 2-dr Wrangler. You can, indeed, leave the top on under the Freedom hard top but you must fold the front part over on itself. It’s a bit sloppy but it does hang down a tad. This is required because there is a pin from the hard top that the Safari top-in my opinion, didn’t account for. Also there is a zippered access for the back two locking mechanism for the top BUT none for the back sides. To access those you must reach through the front, between the bikini top and the hard top. I’m concerned that this will eventually stretch out the bikini top material and it will sag even more. Was really surprised by this Bestop project. I actually reached out to Bestop and they told me this is how it was designed.
