ATK Engines Replacement 3.8L V6 Engine Reviews
Pros:
Comes as a complete kit with everything you need to install it. Lots of new gaskets and seals included. The only seal I had to buy afterwards was O-rings for the fuel injectors. Engine fits as expected, direct replacement for the original 3.8L V6 engine I replaced. I've run it about 1,200 miles now with no problems.
Cons:
Don't be fooled by the advertised "12-15 days" lead time. I ordered mine on January 11th and received it on March 29th. Calling ATK was useless, they gave me the run around and even outright lied to me about the status of my order. Similarly, the refund for the core charge was slow to arrive. They told me I would get it two weeks after they received the old engine, which they picked up April 4th. I received the refund on May 10th.
What Charlie D says is true about actual procurement of motor...I hope one day to also say that he was correct to say it was a good choice. Unfortunately, I shelled out over $4200 for mine on 9/27/23 and have nothing to show for it. Yesterday I was told that ETA would be two more weeks. Original Quadratec site page said expect up to 17 days before shipment. I have been a loyal Quadretec customer for years, this is bad business., sad to say. John Mark Lucas
