Reviews for Flowmaster 817804 Force II Dual Axle Back Exhaust with Black Tips for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL with 3.6L
Easy to install and sounds great. It’s not loud at normal driving but it does get aggressive sounding when you’re in the gas hard. It was just what I wanted. I did it with a K&N intake and can tell a noticeable increase in power much lest restrictive than the stock muffler.
1st- I ordered this on a Tuesday and received it next day for standard shipping rates. That is outstanding. 2nd- I installed the very next day. It took about 30 min. but I also use to work on cars. Its sounds perfect not to loud ..not to quiet. I find myself manual shifting my automatic now....I feel like kid again. NO DRONE what so ever going down highway at speeds of 65-72 (I never drive highway was just checking) Very happy with this purchase. Would highly recommend if your looking for a better sound from your jeep. It DOES NOT sound like a "f@rt can".
I installed this on my 2018 JL Sahara Unlimited in about an hour. The most time consuming part was getting the factory one off the rubber hangers. Get some spray lubricant, a pair of pliers and a bandaid or two and you'll be fine. IMO the sound is great and it looks really good with the dual exhaust. Has a good deep tone and can definitely be heard, but not at a point where you cannot talk to others in the car. I've also spoken with people on the handsfree and they were not able to hear it on their end. Overall very pleased.
The exhaust did some take a lot of jiggling and maneuvering to get installed on my 2019 manual 6 speed 3.6L, JLUR but fits nicely. the tone is moderately aggressive between 1500-2500 RPM's with a pretty loud audible drone up to about 2500 RPMs. Definitely Not as loud as the Muffler Delete kit but still quite droney. just passed 2500 RPM's the sound level drops sharply to below the sound of audible road noise ( at least with a soft top) For the Manual Transmission this is right at highway cruising speed 70-85 mph in 6th gear. overall happy.
I purchased this for the look and sound thinking Flowmaster was a good name. While the sound is pretty good, the drone at 2000 rpms on the highway is becoming almost unbearable. I have had this exhaust on since July of 2020 and to look at it now, you would think I got it out of the junk yard. It’s rusted everywhere and when I contacted Flowmaster, they said it was the lower grade of stainless. When I asked if they had the better grade, they told me they had nothing. So now I’m going to have to take the thing off, wire brush it and try to paint it so I can look at it. My Jeep is a brand new amazing looking 2020 Wrangler Rubicon with a rusty ass Flowmaster exhaust. Thanks for the help Flowmaster.
I added this exhaust to my 2018 JL. The installation was pretty easy on my garage floor and I had it done in about an hour. The Exhaust sounds good, almost like a Tuner with a nice rumble at idle. However, the 2000 RPM Droning of this exhaust is unbearable! I am actually shopping for a product to replace this as I almost cant stand driving the jeep on the highway. This exhaust has the right price point but leaves a lot to be desired when cruising around.
I read the Flowmaster Force II was direct fit but still took it to a muffler shop that even hand crafts systems for vehicles. As my 2018 JL 2 Door Rubicon was just a week old, the OEM exhaust was easily removed in 2 minutes. The Flowmaster was NOT a direct fit. The mechanics had to spread the Flowmaster pipe several times to achieve the perfect fit onto the Mopar pipe. Additionally, on my 2018 JL Rubicon, the length of the Mopar pipe past the resonator had to be loosened (dropped a little) so that the Flowmaster's pipe would fit over the swaybar. Total installation by pros with the Rubicon on a lift was 30 minutes. I could not imagine anyone laying on their back under the Jeep attempting to do this installation. The sound is considered mild to medium. I previously had a Magnaflow Performance axelback system on my 2015 Sport, so was more accustomed to how quiet it was. At speeds under 45mph, the Flowmaster's sound is acceptable. However, on the Florida Turnpike doing 70mph, it was impossible to carry on a conversation. The drone was overwhelming. Needless to say, I am disappointed.
Sound is good but the coating essentially washed off in under 2 months, the sound is good, and the drone isn’t bad on the 2.0, but I would never purchase this again due to the coating issue. There are plenty other exhausts that you do t have to recoat yourself due to shoddy workmanship
