I was slightly disappointed at first. My stock sub has a rubber surround not foam as I’d thought. My whole reason to replace was that I was certain the foam was deteriorated. The paper cone on the stock sub also appeared to be thicker when I looked through the basket underneath, and the stock sub also feels ever so slightly heavier.
Nevertheless, I filled the stock subwoofer enclosure loosely with poly fill and installed the new sub from Quadratec.
Currently just playing music at moderate volumes to break it in, but I can already tell the Quadratec sub plays lower and tighter than the stock sub.. It’s subtle at low volume but it’s noticeable. You can feel it in the seat. Again, this is at moderate volume. On the stock sub, you really couldn’t feel it until you hit 27-28 on the volume. Can’t wait to see how it performs once’s it broken in.
Obviously you’re not going to rattle your neighbors windows with it, but it sounds good so far and plays plenty loud enough for my old ears!

Major improvement in the low end of the factory sound system. Highly recommended!
