Reviews for Magnaflow Street Series Stainless Dual Exit Axle-Back Exhaust System for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL with 3.6L & 2.0L Engine
Awesome. The sound is great but not overpowering. Deeper sound in the 2000 rpm range. More responsive in lower gear. Not annoying with soft top. Installation took a while and it’s a tight fit sliding on the new exhaust. Good luck getting it all the way on.
Definitely a conservative, deep, clean tone. It installs easily, and looks great, but I’m going to pursue a more aggressive muffler. I don’t remember mufflers costing this much when I was driving a 2002 Wrangler TJ.
Top quality muffler with an amazing sound. The 1800 - 3000 rpm range is where the deeper base comes to life. Not excessively loud only moderately louder than factory. Quality of sound is night and day difference compared to original.
This is in NO WAY an ease muffler to install and seat even after using an expanding tool to open the inlet. I had two others helping me and we all agreed that this was no bolt on project. Perhaps the fit would have been better matched had I purchased the catback section too since both components will have been made by MF.
Not much louder than factory muffler, but looks much better. Not a simple bolt on. Had to take it to muffler shop and have the pipe swelled out to fit over original exhaust pipe. Then they had to weld it on because it would seal correctly. I put a Gibson duel exhaust muffler on my previous Jeep and it bolted right up. Expect to spend another $80. to have it installed unless you have a pipe expander and welder.
The product overall is great. Looks good, not real loud, no drone at speed. Real smooth sound. 4 instead of 5 stars because there was no way I was getting this on by myself after trying for 2 hours. Took it to a local shop that agreed it wouldn't fit without swaging the inlet on the muffler. Just plan on a potential $50-$100 to have a local shop help you out.
very easy to install but not as loud as the sound on the page states. was hoping to have it louder then what it is now. if you looking for loud sound dont get this exhayst but looks wise it is very nice with double exhaust coming from the back
Received Exhaust System in a timely manner, however when it was installed, I noticed a small dent on the side tail pipe. Also the right side was slightly pointed inward. I realize now, that I should have purchased this system through an installer and not through Quadratec.
I purchased this Magnaflow axle back exhaust for my 2018 Wrangler JL. The removal of my stock system was very straight forward, about 15 minutes. When I tried to mount the new Magnaflow unit, the pipe that was supposed to slide over my stock pipe was too small. I could not get it to go on more than 1/4" or so. I wrestled with it for half an hour just to make sure. I was very upset because the Youtube videos and install instructions say nothing about this fit issue. I ended up driving to my nearest Orielly Auto parts store to rent an exhaust expander tool. When I got back to my garage I had to try several times with the expander tool to get the Magnaflow unit to slide over my OEM pipe. Fortunately I had an air power impact wrench as trying to use the expander tool with hand tools would be near impossible. After the 3rd try, the Magnaflo finally fit over the OEM pipe and everything else fit perfectly. I ended up removing the passenger side rubber mount bracket to make the install easier. If the Magnaflow would have slipped over the stock tail pipe, the install would have been 20 minutes. After this debacle the unit really does look nice and gives the Jeep a nice exhaust tone with little to no drone in the cab. Magnaflow needs to recall this model and correct it as someone with basic tools will really struggle with getting that pipe expanded. I removed 2 stars because of the installation issues.
Fit is not great. When installed with the factory hangers, the tips contact the underside of the bumper. I have factory steel bumpers, so maybe different with plastic, but disappointing. I had to buy aftermarket adjustable hangers to get about an inch of clearance to the bumper, so extra cost and extra hassle. The sound is, for me, not an improvement. It does add some low end grunt, which is what I was looking for, but it drones between 2,000-3,000 RPM which is largely where I'm sitting if I'm on the highway, and it doesn't add that much higher up in the rev range which is where I would want it. I have a 6-speed manual 2024 Rubicon Unlimited, so maybe it's different with the auto transmission, but for me, it's more annoying than anything. I will most likely switch back to the factory exhaust or maybe try something else from a different manufacturer. It does look cool, but that wasn't really the point.
The garage had a very hard time installing the exhaust as the pipe was not wide enough to attach, then they had a real struggle to line it up. It looks good but a lot of work attaching it. Not something you can do in your yard.
