Mopar site says 82215137AB replaces 82215137 shown here and does not fit the 2021 JLU. Can you verify if it does or doesn't fit?
We leave the letter combination off of some items as they change too frequently. Case and point...this is actually currently at the AC generation and checking AC, it does fit the 2021 models as the previous models. Depending on when the change was made could impact what we have in stock. In this case we do have the original 82215137 from prior to letters being assigned. The parts are "interchangeable" which means that nothing has changed visibly or with fitment that would affect the product, it simply means something minor like a vendor change or packaging change has taken place.
Can i buy the center grille piece separately from this kit? I already have a lock and standard mesh, but need the center piece (custom fitting a JL grille on a JK)
No, unfortunately the pre-cut center section cannot be purchased separately.
There's a previous question on this but the answer is not clear. Will this lock kit fit a 2020 Jeep Gladiator?
The hood lock kit includes a replacement honeycomb panel that will not fit the Gladiator grille. If you would like to install this on a Gladiator you will have to cut the honeycomb and there will not be a grommet to finish the cut edge. Other than that, the hood, latch and support are the same. Another option would be to swap out to a Wrangler grille.
Could it be left in a permanent unlock position with the key off?
Yes, you can remove the key when it is in the unlocked position.
Will it need to be keyed by a locksmith/ dealer or will I be able to do it myself like the JK Mopar hood lock?
This will need to be keyed by a dealer/locksmith. Tumblers and Springs are included.
Will this lock fit the Jeep Gladiator grill? Is there a replacement grill insert with the button lock opening?
No, this will not fit with the factory grille mesh.
