Installed well and appears to be a solid mount for my fire extinguisher. I was somewhat concerned I might scratch the finish on the metal portions it came in contact with but have not noticed any scratches so far. I do not have any padding on the bars so I can not speak to how well it attaches to padded bars.

Although it is "for ... JL ...", it can't be installed on the "sport cage" of a JL in the way shown in the picture. The JL bar is squarish, not tubular, and it has a firm pad on the inner side. It would be possible to fabricate a mount that would extend around and under that pad and be attached with bolts to the two threaded holes in the roll bar (located on the inner side under the pad) that are provided for uses such as this. Rugged Ridge: (listen up!) I would happily pay more for a mounting that worked as described above. As it is, the mount is useless for a JL!
