Reviews for Kentrol 70005 Door Hinge Liners for 76-06 Jeep CJ, YJ, & TJ
For YJ years, you have to cut these down because they are too long. They are a bit hard to cut. Fit great once cut to size.
Tool was pretty useless, but my bushings were in very bad condition. Bushings are of good quality. Recommend using a little grease when installing new bushings.
Seems a little expensive, but they work well and you get to keep the tool should you need to do this again.
Agree with many of the above. On my 92 YJ the top portion of the hinge liner popped out after some work but there is a bottom liner piece inside the hingeswhich refused to budge. I cut 50% of the Kentrol liners off and popped them in the top of he hinge. They work fine but they are not as advertised.
Price point was great. My 1989 YJ did not have liners before, I'll need to drill out the hinges to make these fit. Would have been nice to have this bit of data before I purchased.
10 cent product with $2.00 tool. $100 worth of pain. Bottom brackets had to be removed, broke a torx, bit. The jeep bolts have blue thread-lock on them and are painted on. had to drill out old bushing. new plastic one shattered (shadoobee) as soon as I pushed it in. Now I have to replace lower door hinges for best functionality. I went from hard to remove to can't put doors on. *IOWA jeep, not really rusty but it was a 2003 full hard door sahara garaged but worked on in 2020* be prepared to drill and tap or replace hinges. Just replace your hinges or don't take the doors off. 2.5 stars because $30 isn't bad, It just wasn't easy. Half my jeep problem, half cheap product, best to upgrade so fair warning on my mistakes.
Junk. Do not waste your money on these. Instructions say to trim with utility knife. BS. They will break into a thousand pieces if you do that. They are just plastic and not durable at all. They will break or wear out within a year. Tool included would not fit in my hinge to punch out the old ones. Sheer aggravation.
Cheaply made. Cracked easily.
Did not fit my 2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited and I cracked one trying to make it fit. They are pretty thin plastic. It looks like there may be aftermarket hinges on my Jeep though.
The required instructions have been done and upon installation Never fit 1991 Jeep Wrangler YJ. Not even close to it...
