Reviews for Rugged Ridge Spartan Front Bumper with High Clearance Ends & Overrider for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Love the aggressive look of this bumper and it fits up to the stock fenders much better that the stock bumper, eliminating the gap to keep from slinging mud on the bumper ends.
Awesome Bumper. Installed with no problems. I scratched front bolts like everyone else. Little paint did the trick.
Good bumper, fairly easy to install. Need to make it where u can install a front license plate. Love the look! Great value!
This bumper is a wonderful Bumper, So wonderful that I had to order the back as well. Glad I ordered two sets of hooks.
Just installed new Spartan Front Bumper. Installation took about two hours and everything fit perfectly. Went ahead and put a coat of paint on the exposed surfaces of all the bolts to prevent any rust. Nice product and it really improved the looks of our Jeep. The old front stock plastic bumper was badly dented when we purchased the Jeep and the cost of a stock replacement was almost as much as a new all steel unit. Will be ordering a rear bumper of the same brand next month.
Looks great. Very easy installation. Took less time than expected
great looking bumper, fairly easy install,
Appearance and price.
This is a great product. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather then 5 is the instructions. There are numerous places for improvement. When removing the OEM front bumper there are 8 large nuts to remove. The instructions just say 'remove bumper'. A little more guys! When installing the winch plate, you must NOT reinstall the front grill before installing the winch plate. When installing the bumper it should come with four rather then 2 bolt nut plates. Its hard enough to get a hand in there But to hold the bolt, the DRing connector and then a washer and a nut... Even with help it was very hard. The bumper itself is great but the 7mm bolts to attach the fog lights are a huge PITA. Glue the nuts to the underside of the fastener. Better yet, weld them in. It would be trivial to do.
Fog light wiring harness: I still don't know what to do with this. Its loose in the underlying channel. I guess I'll drill some holes and zip tie it in place, but its completely ignored in the instructions. Overrider, this is a great part, set up for lights. But I have to run the wiring outside the overrider. Drill a hole on either side and then production coat the holes. Then I can hid the wiring inside the overrider!
And lastly front license plate. I know there are different ways to mount a front plate, but seems more and more US states require one. Have some suggestion, I drilled two holes, on how to install the plate. Any suggestion.
All said, nice product. Hope it holds up!
Otherwise, brand new install. No idea how it will hold up. Looks fantastic.
Great looking bumper, so much better than stock. Everything bolted up well and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The vacuum pump move was a little effort, but I ended using a bracket and moving it top side of the engine compartment. The fog light mounting was tedious but do able. Worth the purchase.
