Reviews for Magnaflow 15313 Loop Delete Kit for 12-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with 3.6L Engine
Easy to install and does what it is intended to do. Everything is great on that end. I am writing this to share my experience with the changes in exhaust sound, as I couldn't really find any info before doing this myself. With OEM exhaust from this part back, you would never know this was installed. However, I had a chambered muffler axle-back that instantly became unbearable with a strange out of phase drone (like driving on the highway with one window down). I happily re-installed the OEM muffler while I experimented with different aftermarket kits and parts to get the volume, clearance, and sound I was expecting. My conclusion is that the OEM resonator and chambered mufflers must do strange things with the change in frequency from having different runner lengths. With straight-through mufflers (glasspacks or a straight core round bullet-style chambered) I am not getting any of the terrible out-of-phase sound, but it is a bit loud. The tone is Subaru-esq but sounds more like an outboard boat engine until you get into higher revs. I actually like it.
Nice loop delete! With an open exhaust there is a slight change in pitch.
Thanks Quadratec for replacing the cracked pipe! A manufacturer defect I didn’t discover until post install. Your customer service keeps me coming back!
Well, it does what it does. It simplifies the exhaust, getting rid of the loop (which we had already caught on a rock, which moved the exhaust spacers and caused a slight leak. Added this along with removing the exhaust spacers (added an aftermarket drive shaft to resolve the clearance issue). It works great. No change in performance or sound noticed. And that is what you want.
Increase tourq from mid range to end of the RPM, also increase a step tone of exhaust. I recommend.
Pretty straight forward install following the instructions. One thing to note though when removing the loop from the Y pipe flange the nuts are tac welded so you have to remove the bolts (13mm). Pretty good grumble. Still need to see if is does anything for power or MPG.
