Reviews for Rugged Ridge Elite Antenna Base for 07-20 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK & Gladiator JT
Easy to install and looks great. A bit expensive for what it is, but looks nice, especially with the stubby Quadratec antenna.
Super easy to install and looks great with the Quadratec 16" Stubby antenna that I got at the same time.
Easy to install and looks sharp!
Good, not great.
I noticed others had issues getting the old base off, not a deal breaker. I used an auto trim tool to gently break part of it off then pried until it "popped" off.
Noticed paint missing in spots guessing from air bubbles, guess I'll touch it up. There are no drain holes at the bottom like the original base had...I'm guessing water can fill and sit in the base for a while. Just went on sale so maybe I'lll buy another in black and drill a drain. The red is an okay match for my Firecracker red 2017JK. Other than those issues it's not a terrible quick mod.
Never had one
Easy to install, but directions for removing the OEM isn't that great. Best video i saw for removing OEM is at https://youtu.be/QV3P6PFDfxs. Agree the gasket could be a fraction smaller. Also, if there was a sticky base for the gasket, I saw no mention of it. Only other issue is there is a decent gap where the antenna connects to the base. Seems that water will get in there and pool/rust No suggestions for filling the gap?
While it’s cool, not sure I’d buy it again though.
It should be a little smaller for the JL. The JL has a countersunk hole for the base and it covers the entire spot. A tip I would give for a clean install is to buy some flat black touch up paint and and paint the silver antenna lug black so it blends in better.
