Reviews for ARB ARB601 Digital Tire Inflator with Braided Hose and Chuck
Giving it a try, tired of using a tester then inflat and then test, and repeat until tire is filles. Hopefully will work on motorcycle tires as well.
Locks onto valve stem and has digital readout.
The chuck could be better, but overall the inflator is serviceable.
Have now been using this for ~3 years. I really like the convenience of airing up (or down) using this gauge. The clip-on fitting doesn't work very well. (tried it on a '16 JK, '02 TJ, '18 150, '17 TTS etc..). Haven't found a steam it will actually stay on. I replaced it with a push on. Maybe i got a bad unit but other website reviews mentioned the same thing..not sure if the other reviewers on this site got a better unit or what. When this one stops working i will look to replace with a different brand.
I am having problems with keeping batteries in the one I received. It seems to kill the batteries every couple of months and I only use it when I am refilling my 35in tires after wheeling. I would think the batteries would last over a year, but I am definitely wrong with my thinking there. I have not seen anyone else state they have this same issue, but this is my experience of this product after about 8 months of ownership.
The ARB inflator worked perfectly...until the supplied batteries went dead. When I put in new batteries, I encountered the same issue reported by numerous others on the internet. Turn it on and the digital display now displays random (and very high) pressure numbers, when not even connected to either a tire or a compressor. Hook it up to a tire and compressor, and the gauge reads zero...or randomly gives some outrageously inaccurate reading. It still looks brand new but is now a useless paperweight.
The LCD gauge stopped working correctly after the 2nd time I aired up my tires after a day of wheeling. I'm running a dual ARB compressor under the hood and the first air up, I had no problem. A few weeks later, after airing up my 2 tires on the driver's side, the gauge went haywire on me and won't show the correct tire pressure. It's almost as if moisture got into the gauge from the compressor. The gauge is stored in a bag and not subjected to the elements or being rattled against tools, etc. I thought it may be bad batteries at first, but after putting new ones in, it still does the same thing. It's phenomenal at filling tires though, and I love that I can clip the chuck onto the valve stem and not have to hold it on. Now I have to constantly unhook it and use a pencil gauge to make sure I'm at the desired pressure I want.
