Good quality

The quality of the tool and the case are excellent. Laser etching on the FID is useful and the cable grip holds well. I used it today to install a Factor 55 Splicer thimble (https://www.quadratec.com/products/92135_910X_PG.htm ) onto a new Quadratec synthetic winch line (https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/q-series-dyneema-synthetic-winch-line-90-feet) without issue. It will be easy to stash in the Jeep for emergencies.

This thing is excellent! I used it to make a winch extension line and I used it to replace the eye and hook on my winch line with the Factor 55 Splicer. I've done bury splices before using bent wire for a fid/fish, but this is much faster and more convenient.

used this twice today to shorten my damaged line (once was practice).. so simple once you get the hang of it.

you should absolutely have one of these in your recovery kit for field repairs if you run synthetic line.

Very handy tool must have for all those running synthetic rope
