Reviews for Quadratec Maximum Duty Hydro 7.0 Shock Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I'm not sure who makes these shocks for Quadratec but... they should just put the hardware / eyelet bushing in when they're making them... I'm just a shade tree mechanic so I'll have to go buy a 6" heavy duty vise or bring them to a garage to have them installed --- So anyhow they look good but i can't make a comment on there ride quality at this time
ok
Gonna start with a 3 star review from installation only at this time. The provided brackets for the top-end for the rear shocks were very weak. As I tightened the bolts into place one bolt would cut into the bracket, pushing it off center. Ended up pressing out the previous brackets and using those instead of the provided ones.
Decent shock. 7.0 rides pretty smooth on a 3.5 lift. seems to ride hard in the winter temps. they rust pretty quick once they get blasted with road debris. I would recommend hitting them with a coat of protectant(spay on bed liner works great) prior to install.
Only had them on for a short time, as of now they are a good shock for the price. I just have a basic 2.5 lift and do very little off roasting so they were perfect for my needs. If I had a more expensive or elaborate lift I would get Fox or Bilstein
installed these shocks with my teraflex 1.5'' leveling kit on my '12 2 door JK and the ride quality is worse than stock, extremely bumpy. definatly won't buy these shocks again again. save your hard earned money for quality shocks such as bilstein or fox.
Although I liked the shocks when I got them with a Quadratec lift kit, the shock bushings didn't hold up. Less than 2 years the are shot. The bottom of the shock is so sloppy that it is rattling around and affecting the ride quality and the top of the shocks are squeaking. Sent a message to Quadratec about the issue and they haven't responded. I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the years but the lack of responsiveness is making me question my choice of Jeep parts vendors.
Great for the price, some issues though. Mine died after about 2 and a half years. They rust really quickly, so sand and repaint before you even bother to put them on. The lower shock mount bolts aren't shouldered. I had to take one of the rear shocks out because the threads flattened and left a huge gap, allowing the whole shock to bounce around. I only took out the worst one, all the others do the same. So go spend some extra money on shouldered bolts. Overall, you get what you pay for. Not good or bad, just shocks.
Bushing came out and it has not been even a year
Boy this really made the jeep ride rough!!! Save your money.
