Can the protective covers be replaced with red ones? if so what part number would they be?
Sure. Use part number 16021-04 Daystar Poly Shock Boots. Thanks for your inquiry.

Are these shocks monotube?
No. They are a twin-tube construction. Thanks for your inquiry.

Can these shocks be installed upside down for clearance issues?
No. Nitro shocks cannot be turned upside down due to valves and orifices are hard set in bottom of shock body. Oil must drain down to bottom to function. Same goes for Hydros shocks.

how do these compare to the stock shocks on road?
These are gas charged shocks. They will be slightly faster responding and a little firmer in ride

What is the shock body diameter and rod diameter? Are the bushings rubber or polyurethane? Is the double fork in the instructions for some other application? My rear shocks for 92 YJ don’t install with this fork.
The shock body diameter is 2 3/8". This rod diameter is just under 9/16". The bushings are poly. The "dogbone" would be necessary on the top mount unless they have been deleted.
