Reviews for Trigger 2100 Solid State Bluetooth 4 Plus Relay Switching System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
HONESTLY MY FAVORITE MOD ON MY JEEP !!
It’s so cool that you can use your phone as a light controller and set the blinking speeds !
Also love that you can place your remote anywhere since it has the magnetic back, also you can mount the switch controller anywhere with its zip tie holder too.
A feature no one talks about but is one of my favorites is that you can press the buttons under your hood and trouble shoot easier without having to pull out the remote or the phone !
I wired all kinds of stuff to my switch, my Xmas wreath, my pod lights and even my winch !
I purchased this system because I only wanted it for a few accessory connections and didn't want to break the bank. This is the best bang for the dollar if you're looking for a product like this. The updated 4 Plus system is definitely better than the previous trigger ACS model. I installed this system on my 2005 LJ. Before installing I soldered the fittings to the +/- battery cables for extra strength. I had to put together my own TJ/LJ mount as ACS doesn't make a mount for the TJ/LJ. I ended up using 3m automotive grade double sided tape and a flat piece of plastic. I mounted the trigger system to the flat piece of plastic and then mounted it to the air box where it would clear the hood closed and the fuse box when opening. The bluetooth switch is very responsive, easily mountable, and has a good range. Overall I feel it's a good product if you looking for something like this system. I wish ACS would make a TJ/LJ bracket because I would have definitely bought it. Trying to figure out where and how to mount it took the most time during this install believe it or not.
This is listed for JK only, but I installed it on my TJ and it works GREAT! I used an aluminum plate with some spacers and mounted it to the top of the air filter box. I can service the filter and access the fuses without removing the Trigger. I mounted the RF remote to the sport bar on the driver side near the windshield. The only issue I had was to learn to tap the buttons quickly, not a long press. I also loaded the app on my Galaxy S7. It too works very well. So far, I am impressed.
My fav part is no wiring had to be pulled through dash I had it installed less than half hour no problems so far
So this is my initial review since I have only owned it for two days... and have not hooked up light bar yet because I am testing it first. To start with more details tan the first review: it does not quite work as advertised for two reasons. The first is the device Bluetooth apparently is not compatible with an iPhone 7. I get the error "Pairing Unsuccessful "Trigger" is not supported". My iOS version is 10.3.1. However, the app and pairing on my Samsung S5 works great. As far as wiring, the installation instructions could be clearer. The yellow wire MUST be attached to something. Either wire it together with the positive (red) batter connector or wire it to an "add-a-fuse" like I did so it can only turn on after the ignition switch is on. I can also say the included zip ties are too short to go around my JK bars in the cab. This being said, everything else is working great. I didn't have to run a wire to the inside of my cab and love the flashing and dimming features in the application. Will update my review after a month or so. Hopefully they will address the Apple Bluetooth pairing and application issue soon.
I installed the unit to four separate lights. Works great happy with the quality the installation wasn't that difficult, love not having to run wires through the cab. My only complaint and it's pretty significant is from time to time something is turning on one of the lights or several the lights. I don't know if it's outside interference or an issue with the switch box but during the day this is a real problem because I don't know if the lights are on and at night I risk blinding somebody cuz it pops on when no one's touched any switches. Haven't gotten support because there's no contact info on the manufacturer site.
I sent this unit back. Cool concept but mounted as depicted would mean drilling or gluing this kinda heavy unit right on top of a not that sturdy plastic fuse box lid. Just not willing to risk water in the fuse box. The main power/ground leads are not long enough to run to the driver's side. I also wants a tap into switched power.
It is cheaper than a s-pod to be sure. In the end, I went with a Daystar Switch Pillar for my JK-U and simply use the relays that came with my LED light harnesses.
Not what I expected. Sent it back next day. Wouldn't work properly.
