Reviews for MasterTop Bimini Top for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Read the directions and watch a video! The front edge rolls down and into the channel. Not like a CJ bikini top at all.
Fits well, would have preferred the CJ style with the straps and footman loop arrangement. I can see the main tensioning strap giving out in a year or two. Also, seems to be some straps and angles in strange places. Not the cleanest installation, but works just fine with the BestTop fabric doors to keep most rain and cool nights at bay!
Good top for the money
I'm a little disappointed that the header isn't mentioned or included with the Bimini top.
I will take partial blame for not looking at all the reviews or scouring around the net or Quadratec for all parts needed.
Does the job but not a great fit between the front and the windshield rails
good product
cant get tight so going to order a different one. Needs more straps.
Bought this as alternative to putting top up in inclement weather. More work than it's worth. Product is good quality, nothing wrong, just not worth the effort.
This Bimini is well built but the design doesn't work on models without door surrounds. The velcro straps that hold the sides to the sports bar slip and it comes loose after you drive the vehicle. It was useless on my 2004 Unlimited. I screwed the sides into the bar. That will work for this summer. Wish me luck trying to line those holes up next summer. POOR DESIGN for LJ's.
Do not buy !!! Does not fit right , can not get it to stay in the header channel. Wasted money !!! So disappointed in Quadratec for selling such an inferior product. Have 2003 TJ.
Complete junk...
I ordered the black diamond version since I don't have a speaker bar. It takes either two people, or a lot of patience to install. Instructions are extremely generic (cover a wide range of products), and pictures don't match this specific top. My Jeep came with an old Bestop full soft top that I can completely install or remove (including frame) in less time than this bimini top.
There was a lot of slack in the top (it was put on a 97 TJ without door frames installed), so it flops around A LOT. When I tried tightening down the straps to take the slack out, two of the straps ripped out of the cover before the cover was actually taut.
I would never recommend wasting $100 on this product ($50 for the required channel). I've seen much better bimini tops on Jeeps for half the price. I suppose next time I'll have to ask people where they got them. Hopefully I can get my money back and convince MasterTop to up their quality.
