Reviews for DV8 Offroad Ranger Fast Back Hardtop for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Went on super easy and fits perfectly . Looks great
I've had extensive customizations done to my Jeep, including the Vicowl and Grumper from FabFours along with the XRC armor quarter panels/fenders from Smittybilt. The change to the profile of the jeep caused a lot for wind turbulence over the soft top, sometimes so bad that it would cause a LOUD POP as it slammed down on the cross member support. This hard top solves all of that and then some.
I was also always leery of leaving anything of value (including the wireless remote for my wench) in the jeep. Locking it meant someone could just unzip (or Heaven forbid...CUT through) the soft top. No long a concern.
Finally, the fastback profile of this top really works with the other mods I listed above. A pic should be posted soon (once approved) so you'll be able to see the final product.
Bottom line, definitely one of the best purchases I've made for my Jeep. LOVE IT!
After a long search, I ordered the DV8 textured black hardtop for my 2010 Wrangler Sport. This my second Jeep, and I have always been a soft top purist. Soft tops are great, but this top is the best upgrade I could have ever done. Form and function are top notch. With a second set of hands, this top literally went on in 20 minutes with no hesitation or fitment issues. I was careful to check the seals, align the targa panel, and then step back and admire. My german shepherd now has a more secure, cooler place to ride, and this top makes a 8 year old Jeep look almost new. I am looking forward to a warmer winter ride!
Well this was a rough experience, I bought this to replace my soft top, installation is easy with a second set of hands. The targa portion dimensions were off by 1 1/16 ". Which means you'll have to get some weather strip and experiment which method keeps the most water out, I used residential expanding foam weather strips. That was about 98% effective. That was my concluded result after experimenting with about $200 worth of weather seals. Yesterday had to replace the back window seal, the little compartment in the floor in the back had pooled water in it. The paint bubbled up in one spot and cracked so I filled it with clearcoat for fingernails. Had to replace the screws and washers that hold the back window in because the ones that came with it are super cheap. Can't return this because it's the only top I have got now and I dropped 4k on it which I had to save up for 3 yrs so that's cool. I don't think they take pride in their craftsmanship. I think they just look at it as a job they have to go do and nothing more so only expect the bare minimum. If I were you I'd keep looking. I don't have a choice now I have to make this work. Thanks dv8. At this point I'm pretty sure plastic wrap might be better.
