Reviews for DV8 Offroad HDMB07-02 Heat Dispersion Hood for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Great hood and great looks. However, the right side vent insert never fit quite right. Finally lost it when meeting a semi on a two lane road. I have been trying to get a replacement insert with absolutely no success. So instead of 5 stars, 3 stars for poor customer support.
Package box arrived in a good condition, I did not opened the box for a few months until a couple of days ago when I was ready to install. Hood is bent on the side and needs a bodyshop repair, alignment is no good.
Bodyshop told me the hood was fixable and could be made to fit ok. Extra cost for this repair has to be covered by me.
Hood is bowed outtoo far to fit good. have not had a chance to see what has to be done to repair so it works. Will let you know as soon as the weather gets nice enough to do something about it it.
I had my hood shipped directly to my auto body shop. When we opened it up to decide the paint color and design it was apparent this definitely was not ready to paint. There were two dents, lots of scratches, waves in the sheet metal and some deformities in the lines. My painter estimates it will require 2 to 3 hours of repair and preparation time to really be ready to paint, at a cost of about $170.00. I am going to contact customer service Monday morning to discuss the situation and will update this review afterwards
I purchased the hood several years ago, spent over $500 having it professionally painted and fitted to my JK at a well known Jeep shop in South Florida. Loved the look and was very happy with my purchase. Fast forward to today and things have changed dramatically. My hood is basically rotting from the inside out. It started on the underside and has quickly progressed, now surfacing on the outside. The rust started under the paint and has now broken through in many areas, leading to concerns about the integrity of the hood itself. When you open the hood you can actually hear pieces of rust rattling around inside parts of the paneling. These hoods come primed from the factory, so something must have gone wrong during the process. I don't believe its even repairable. I'm sure it’s out of warranty and doubt DV8 will stand behind their product. An unfortunate end to what started off as a great looking addition to my Jeep.
i paid 650$ plus 150$ shipping and it comes to me with the back left corner needing bodywork plus it has dents ALL over it.my original washer nozzles do not fit in the new hood.wish i woulda known about the squirters
DV8 Hood is not worth it
Save your money and purchase some thing else. I took the hood to a well-known body shop to have it painted and installed, not even two years later it started rusting from inside out,
I took it back to get it repainted and now a year and a half later it’s doing the same thing. The company will not stand by this product if it happens to you just like they did to me. Buyer beware
