Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11580.02 Rear Hitch Kit for 87-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ & TJ

Nice hitch, well built and solid. Installation on a YJ is pretty simple, just 8 bolts. However, the inner 2 bolts on each side are a major pain to reach with such a tight space to work. It takes patience.
Also, since it is not clearly answered elsewhere, the hitch comes with the 8 10mm bolts/washers/lockwashers/nuts needed to install it. It also comes with a set of 4 12mm bolts/washers/lockwashers/nuts and a pair of steel plates. No where in the directions or online can I find what these are for. Even the directions for a TJ don't mention them. From what I can tell, these are the bolts and plates needed to mount the optional tube bumper to the hitch. So if you plan to get the tube bumper later on, make sure you keep all of the is extra hardware.

Installation

Just finished installing the hitch, solid well designed, all the bolt holes lined up perfect, wold definitely recommend this product for anyone needing an inexpensive solution to a receiver hitch. I did have to make a short notch in the bumperettes in order to reinstall them

Easy install and great fit. I bought this mainly to use with a bike rack while towing my Jeep behind an RV. Durable and well made with a nice gloss powder coat.

Easiest install on my 89 YJ yet. Holes lined up perfectly and tows my 14 foot jon boat no problems at all. If looking for a cheap way to tow something light with your jeep I highly recommend this. For YJ's install takes about an hour or two depending on your bolts for the bumperettes.

Fit perfect. No issues, heavy duty and looks well built.
