Reviews for DV8 Offroad FENDB-02 Front and Rear Flat Tube Fender Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK
Awesome quality and super easy to install, no cutting required. Definitely would recommend!
Fenders fit well and are very well made. I installed these on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler and I am very happy with the fitment and quality of the product. The install was very easy with the use of the rubber grommets vs having to install nut rivets like most fenders. The finish is holding up really well. An extra bracket for installing a turn signal is included that I thought was a nice touch. You have to supply your own light but it provides a solution for people looking to keep this turn signal. I have other DV8 products and have been impressed with their customer service. Overall, I am really happy with the fenders.
I got this kit about a year or so ago. They look good but the hardware is crap on a cracker. cheapest junk they can find. already have to replace the bolts as they are junk corroded. I live in South Carolina BTW. I don't know, thinking they should put more effort into this package. Buy, hey what the hell do I know.
The fenders themselves are well built! The install on the fronts is perfect, the rear fender install needs a re-design! Anchor nuts in rubber grommets is a horrible idea for off road vehicles!
I can't really give this product or company a positive review.
First, the fenders I was sent were obviously someone else's returns. The weather stripping was already applied to all four fenders and done in a sloppy manner that would've resulted in a very uneven edge once installed. I ended up removing all the weather stripping and reapplying using my own adhesive.
Secondly, two of the fenders had areas where the powdercoating had been scrapped off down to bare metal. That wasn't that big a deal to me as I regularly offroad so scrapes repaired with black spray paint aren't that unusual. If you're all about asthetics, it might matter to you.
Finally, the parts kit I was sent was a mess. Ultimately it did contain all the hardware needed to install these, along with a bunch of additional bolts, nuts and washers that didn't go with the kit. I guess I shouldn't complain about getting more parts than needed but it did make it more difficult to properly catalogue the parts and points to more sloppiness by the vendor.
Despite my misgivings, I went ahead and installed these. On the plus side, the installation wasn't bad at all and these fit fairly well. The only bad part was getting the locking nuts started on the front fenders in some very tight spaces. I can't fault the product for this though as you'd have the same issue with any fenders using those mounting locations.
The front fenders are actually fairly decent and I don't have any real complaints given the price point.
The rear fenders however, need a complete redesign. As an earlier reviewer stated, the rubber "nutserts" are a really stupid mounting method. Additionally, the design of the fenders themselves needs to be reworked. Rather than taper from thin to full width, the front bottom corners of these fenders start at full width. The problem with that it is creates a snag point for anything you're pivoting on and the straight tube from this point to the first bend in the tubing creates a significant lever to multiple that force. That force is being applied 1) to the unsupported first bend in the tubing and 2) directly against three of the mounting points that use the weak rubber "nutserts".
The net result is first time on the trail, kissing an obstacle has resulted in a rear fender that's bent at the first joint and ripped sheet metal. I'm just hoping I can repair enough of the damage to mount a better sets of rear fenders.
The Fender look ok the weld lacks something to be desired. The FEDEX packing was horrible. My fenders came scratched up on the corners. The product delivery seems too long. The Rear fenders have a gap that I don't know how it could be fixed.
