Reviews for DV8 Offroad Front Inner Fenders for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Excellent product. Cheap, light, easy to clean, and the pictures match the product perfectly. Only problem with mounting was on the rearmost clip where they lock into place. I simply removed that clip so rattling wouldn’t be a problem and the fenders have stayed snug for over 5K miles and 4 jeeping trips. I would highly recommend this as a visual upgrade
Looks really good
These inner fenders came with a couple of spots of chipped paint. The nuts and bolts that came in the package did NOT match up to what was supposed to come with the inner fenders. I did call and ask for a new package of nuts and bolts, which came very quickly.
The worst part about these inner fenders is the installation instructions. They are absolutely terrible! I figured it all out without the provided instructions.
Once they are on they do look good tho.
I didn’t have good luck reusing my factory plastic inner fender liners so I bought these. At best there ok. A bit of a pain in the ass to install due to this one piece that has to rest against the fire wall and there’s no way to get your hand behind the liner to adjust it once there installed. (tip) on the drivers side, I removed the horn and that allowed me to reach down to get my hand on the firewall clip and get it seated correctly. On the passenger side, there’s nothing that can be removed to help in the installation. I just got lucky with that one. The Aluminum piece in the middle inside of the Dv8 logo raddles and will make you nuts. So before you install, drill a small hole and bolt the aluminum and the dv8 logo together to avoid the rattling. Other than that I guess there ok. Better then hacking up the factory liners. That just looks bad. IMO. Have fun
I loved the look of this product when I originally purchased and felt the design was a great cost efficient way to protect my engine from rocks and debris. Sadly I was mistaken. The product looks great but ends there. Instructions weren’t included so I had to look them up online. Even with all bolts properly tightened (with loctite) and aligned correctly it does rattle slightly at first but progressively got worse. I don’t take the vehicle off-road but it’s gotten to the point where they were so noisy (and checked all bolts again which were still tight) that I decided to remove them. I would say if they were one piece they would be much better. I must say buy at your own risk
I bought these fenders for my JKU after installing aftermarket plastic fenders. The stock liners did not work with the new fender flares, no matter how much I trimmed. I bought these in black because I liked the look and thought the vent was just enough to let fresh are in the engine bay, but keep moisture off my CAI. I have to say, I was very disappointed in these and ended up ordering another set with great review. I wasted my money on these. Here are the issues I faced with my set: 1) I was missing hardware when I received the kit. Luckily, I have a stash of nuts and bolts and was able to make do without the missing hardware. 2) The paint coating the aluminum is crud. When I was assembling these, I slightly torqued the bolts and the paint started to chip off. When I was installing them, the paint started to bubble and scratch off. I wasn't being forcefull because I wanted to keep the paint intact, but no matter how gentle I was, the paint creased or bubbled. 3) The passenger side panel was missing three holes that are used to bolt the liner to the inner fender well. I had to drill the three holes to make it work. 4) the firewall side of the fender is secured with a "latch". It doesn't secure very well, leaving the firewall side of the panel to wobble around. I guess you could drill another hole at the bottom, but that would also mean drilling into the jeep body panel or inner fender wall.
I would have tried to return if I hadn't drilled holes in the passenger side and had paint scraped off of them during install. Needless to say, I cannot support buying these. I am giving two stars because I am hopeful this is not a standard for this product. They do have promise, just be forewarned.
Cool looks is about all these have to offer. No matter how they are positioned (the correct way, or any other way), they rattle on and off road. So I tried numerous things to eliminate the rattle. I tried drilling into the body to nutsert parts that were wobbly, silicone, different types of tape...but at the end of the day, why the hell are these so rattly that I have to resort to doing this kind of BS? The R&D team need to do some rethinking on these....or, just stop selling them.
RUN!!!! do not buy this product. The hardware i cheap and junk. These fenders do not work with factory fenders (my fenders are trimed) the fit up is loose requires me to have to but in my own screws ( I should return this junk product but I don't wanna wait for diffrent inners to ship to me. Do not waist your money on these!!! THEY ARE MADE IN CHINE and the quilty shows it. I wasn't aware they were made in China till I got them. So not worth it!!!! Straight up junk cheap made product
Do not buy these fenders. They look ok. 5/10. You will have the worst time of your life installing these. They include but are not limited to some of the worst "Nut-serts" if you can even call them that, the worst gasket type thing that goes between the fender and the jeep, not to mention they don't even fit in the rear. I have to give some credit to the fronts, they went on no problem. DV8 Really needs to figure out what they are doing with the rear fenders here. I hate giving bad reviews but here I am. At least it would have been nice to have some accurate instructions, I had to follow some from carid and they were somewhat helpful, the bolt placement was incorrect and resulted in me messing up one of the "Nut-serts" (they don't require a tool to install and now I've irrevesibly drilled out the fender mounting holes.) I can't stress enough not to buy these.
The inner fenders came with chipped paint and you have to drill into your rig to install it and they don't use all the factory holes.....terrible
