Reviews for Kentrol 80704 Mechanical Hood Catch Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK

These look incredible. I really love the look on the Jeep. However, paint start flaking, very soon after install. That I can handle. Today, on corrugated road, both latches failed. Thank goodness for thew hood catch, or my hood would have flown up. As it is, the latches put two really nice dings in my freshly painted flat fenders. I will never spend a dime on Kentrol anything. This failure could have been catastrophic. I'm lucky that it was only incredibly irritating.

I have such mixed feelings with these hood latches.
The manufacturing and function are excellent.
However, the paint they used faded within a few months. There doesn't seem to be any UV inhibitors at all and now my hooks are a faded gray color. It's pretty disappointing especially considering how much they cost.

too bad received them paint peeled out of the box imagine whats gonna happen after installation and driving plus its says on the box made in china while in the video says MADE IN USA i will try to paint them and install and will see how it goes i only bought them coz of the reviews and they are not been used from many and they look nice but maybe thats why not to may people bought them
