Reviews for Misch 4X4 JBBTJ250D BigBoy Driver Side Bracket for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Excellent well made item and good value. Fitted my RHD Drivers side, no problem. Has transformed my driving comfort. Thoroughly recommended.
I originally cringed at the price of this, worried about getting the bends correct and holes in the proper place I bit the bullet and bought these. So glad I did, well engineered and sturdy. Total install time less than 30 minutes. Being 6’4” I love the extra room these provide. Great product, don’t DIY, just BUY!!
Does exactly as advertised!
The end product is awesome! I don’t feel like my knees are right up against the steering wheel anymore. And since the back seat is rarely in, it’s not like I’m jamming anyone up behind me. This went into a ‘98 Wrangler, so the job took a lot longer than I expected. Even after soaking every bolt with penetrating oil for a week, I still had to grind off 3 bolts to get the seat brackets out. Good wintertime project!
If you're tall, this is the first mod you want to do to your TJ! It'll bring your driving experience to a new level. Dwight Howard could drive my Jeep now, and might still have room to spare. Installation instructions were good, making the job easy enough. After placing your order, go spray your seat mounting bolts down with a good penetrating oil, so that they'll be ready to come out when it's time.
Works well for needed room.
I'm 6'5" and this is perfect. Easy to install, solid and makes it comfortable for me top drive my tj
I was a little hesitant to buy these at first because of the price. However I’m 6’3 so I needed more room. Driving my TJ was damn near impossible, especially with a 5 speed. I pulled the trigger and bought them. When they arrived, the build quality was much better than I expected. It took me about a half hour to to install, just because getting the old bolts out was a little rough. My only suggestion is to make sure you take your back seat out so you can get at the bolts from all angles. Getting the brackets and seat back in is pretty straight forward.
Basically if you’re hesitant on the purchase - I’m promise if you’re tall, this makes driving your Jeep a brand new enjoyable experience.
Well worth it. I'm 6'6 and this makes driving the 5-Speed manual way more comfortable. Relatively straightforward install, floor screws were a bit rusty and I had to buy a Torx T50 bit for the socket wrench to remove the anchor screw but other than that they went in easy.
First mod I did. A must-do for those over 6'. I am 6' 5" and I do not even need to push the seat all the way back. Extra 4" inches of legroom for the TJ, but only 2" (if I am correct) for the JK. One thing to note (not really a gripe, but rather an observation): I have had them in two TJs; I noticed that the powder-coating peels off relatively easily at the front edges, even after only a couple of months of use, and the metal underneath (steel) is prone to rust. It's just a cosmetic issue, nothing to do with functionality.
