Reviews for Crown Automotive 55254918K7 Extended Fender Flare Set for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Great product, looks great! My oversized tires were constantly throwing water and mud up the side and inside the cab. Replaced the stock 3” fender flares with these 6 5/8” and they fit perfectly!
Great upgrade when running bigger tires. They look like stock flares but wider which is exactly what I was looking for. I am running 33x12.5 on my stock TJ wheels and the fit is perfect for that tire size. If your tires are any more narrow than that then it will not look right.
Install was a pain but that's no ones fault. I would recommend cutting your old flares off to expose the hardware. You're welcome.
Overall I would highly recommend these if you're looking for a factory style look with a couple extra inches. You re-use your existing side markers and it comes with hardware.
First time changing out flares on a 2004 TJ...front was easy to do...rear not so easy removing the inner splash guards. Product looks good and fits over new 33 tires.
2005 Wrangler X Fit well, keep old hardware as others stated. 265/75/16 with 4.5" back spacing. Room for 275 or perhaps 285 wide. If you have the dog leg/kicker they will need modified.
Blocks 90% of debris entering the cab or rear with a bikini top. If you’re running anything larger than stock wheels I’d suggest the purchase.
Excellent Fit, Easy to install.. Looks Great.
Great fit up, arrived in good condition hard ware kit a little sketchy. Look good looked like oem parts
Need a wider set
The removal of existing flares is harder than the install of the new ones. Make sure you have a 5/16 ratcheting wrench, otherwise taking off the old flares is all but impossible. I was lucky that my 99 TJ only had a few nutcerts were completely rusted and not usable. If you can, save and reuse the existing hardware, the plastic washers that come with the flares are garbage. Do yourself a favor and buy some new SS washers instead if you can’t reuse the existing hardware.
The flares however are fantastic looking and fit very well. I’m pleased with the end result. In advance, watch some YouTube videos about fender flare replacement so you get an idea of the work scope. I recommend these flares but suggest some of the hardware gets replaced.
I am very pleased with these fender flares. They look great, seem to be high quality, and fit my 98 TJ perfectly. Installation was a borderline nightmare, but thats not totally Crown Automotive's fault. If you Jeep is older, several of the bolts on the flares, especially the rear flares, are going to be absolute garbage. Some of them are completely inaccessible too. Search forums for ideas on how to install the new flares after you basically brute force the old hardware out, because the new hardware that come with these flares are only going to get you so far. Had they included hardware that would work with the inevitable issues you are going to face, I would have given 5 stars. The fenders are perfect, the hardware is Jeeps fault, but Crown Automotive doesn't do you any favors with the hardware they provide.
