Reviews for Rugged Ridge 17212.10 13" Stubby Reflex Antenna for 07-23 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK & Gladiator JT
Terrible reception and build quality, avoid.
Reception to original antenna got worse. Also the built quality is below expectation - plastic edges could have been smoothed and polished better. I'm going to try the 16" HiPerf antenna from Quadratec, though it has a hefty $40 price tag, which I don't understand for a simple antenna either.
I meant to buy the Quadratec antenna but ordered this one by mistake. Typical Omix-Ada quality. Chipped plastic. The central screw is too long so the components don't fit together well. If have to cut the screw to make it fit, but it's not worth the effort. Skip this one and get the Quadratec version for better quality and fit.
Does not fit the threads. Wrong size as advertised.
Horrible reception. All static
Did not stay on.
Product will only pick up the strongest of stations. Love the look but performance is poor.
Bought one of these and came outta the box curved like a banana....Called Quadratec they sent me a another one and its curved like a banana! Come on Rugged ridge... You cant you make a straight Antenna! Save you money and buy a steel one....
This also did not fit in my 2017 Willy appears the screw was not long enough but cannot confirm for obvious reasons.
I bought this stubby antenna so it would be easier to cover my JK with my Quadratec car cover. It fit OK, but I lost a huge amount of radio reception. It was fine in town, but when I got out in the sticks, the FM channels I used to get clearly were coming in very fuzzy and intermittent in areas where I used to get clear reception with my factory antenna. I chocked it up to a bad purchase on a "CHEAP" antenna - my bad. I reordered a Quadratec CB style antenna with the quick release and couldn't be happier. It has just as good, if not better reception, than my factory antenna and removes easily to put my car cover over the Jeep.
