Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11543.15 Winch Mounting Kit for 13-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with Factory Steel Bumpers
Fast shipping. Easy install, fit good.
Fairly easy to install and keeps my winch a little below the top of the bumper.
This is a solid and well made winch mount that really cleans up the winch area behind the 10th Anniversary bumper. The vacuum pump tucks nicely underneath. We did have to mount the winch before remounting the bumper because of limited space to tighten bolts. The back wall of the mount really gives the area a clean look and covers the frame rails nicely. Mounted a Warn VR-10S winch and the figment aligned nicely. The vacuum pump bracket must be cut off to install this mount, so just touch up the cut area with gloss black spray paint. Great product!
Instructions are clear and the product is easy to install.
Its nice that it has an integrated vacuum pump mount.
The plate is heavy and sturdy, I have full confidence in it.
***Your bumper will need a center plate. There are two variations of the center plate that depend on the winch you are mounting. It would be nice if the instructions included that info.
Nice solid mounting kit for the Rubicon Recon front bumper but had a couple of clearance issues. I had to trim one of the front 'tabs' to make room for the fairlead centering plate hardware. I installed a Smittybuilt X20-10 Gen2 winch and the mounting plate positions it a little too far back in the frame to allow for center mounting the solenoid box on top of the winch. There is enough room to side mount the Solenoid box but it is still a close fit and will be a challenge if I need to remove the grill.
Good product, fit the 10th anniversary bumper well and a is great alternative to the higher priced Mopar bracket. Pretty easy to install, have to cut the vacuum pump bracket off, but that is the case with all of the brackets and the relocation mount on this plate is very neatly tucked away.
Very sturdy winch plate, but the installation was a lot more difficult than it should have been. I had to fashion shims (i.e., steel washers) to get the front-facing holes to align for the bumper attachment. Then the lower driver-side bolt on the Mopar fairlead cover (stock 2017 Recon steel bumper) wouldn't clear the vertical flange on the front of the plate--I had to use a cutter to notch it. Once I got everything put together, it was easy to mount the winch, and everything seems solid.
Terrible does not fit as intended.
I think the product was well designed and the instructions were ok to follow. My reason for leaving only one star is due to the paint or powder coating that they used has practically fallen almost completely off. I've had this a little over three years and by the second year of ownership the coating started coming off in large chunks. I'm at the point now that I'll either take it off and repaint it or go with another manufacturers winch mount. I think its a good product but wish they put a little more effort into taking care of the coatings of the part.
