Reviews for Crown Automotive 5003861AA 20-Gallon Sending Unit Assembly for 91-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ
As good as OEM
My Jeep is parked Because of a broken one
Part fits perfectly, got my old YJ back on the road! Only downside was "Priority " mail shipping! Had the rest of my order in 2 days via FEDEX.
Part was ok and works fine.
Easy Installation beyond the challenges of dropping the tank and it worked as expected. Lasted about 18/mo until the rubber hose connecting the fuel pump to the metal tubing split. Installed the Omix 17724.16 that has the same rubber hose design but hoping it’ll hold and perform as expected.
Bought on May 6th, 2021, left me stuck on the trail Jan 30th, 2023 with less than 2000 miles on it. I recommend replacing the fuel line between the pump and sending tube as mine blew a hole through the rubber tube wall.
Quit working after 2yrs. Not impressed.
Do not buy this pump. This pump failed on me after 1,000 miles use. The rubber hose on the pump burst and I lost gas pressure. Had to drop the tank and replace pump.
After installing this unit I went up to Moab EJS this year and this unit failed on me while on the trail. Everything tested out fine, but the pump quit working.
Crown usually makes great products, so maybe I got a faulty one…. Now I have to drop the tank and find a new unit to put in.
As with a couple of other recent reviews of this part, the small length of hose between the pump and pickup failed catastrophically after about 5 months. I was fortunate that when it broke I was less than a mile from my house - very lucky, as a couple of days before, I'd driven my YJ from southern Colorado to Dallas in 100 degree heat - had this thing failed then, I'd have been in a world of hurt. Previously I'd preferentially purchased Crown parts, but this is such a downer that I may move away from them and buy OMIX parts instead. I will be able to replace the small broken length of hose, but this is not something that one should have to deal with on a part like this.
