Reviews for Rampage Products Complete Soft Top Kit with Upper Doors & Tinted Windows for 88-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ
Was a great top for the price! Did very well keeping us dry and relatively warm even in Illinois.
The only manufacturer that makes a gray colored top that I could find. I was needing the gray color for an Islander Jeep. It was a snug install even at 90 degrees outside, but fits well. All hardware is included except for the half door strips that hold the soft upper sections to the lower doors, which typically don't need replacing. I purchased the tinted version. It also folds down like the factory top does if you have the patience to do so. Very happy with the look.
Exactly what I needed
Looks good. Price seemed good.
Great too and easy hardware barely read instructions
Do this in a hot day and about 3 people to help stretch. This is made out of the same material as best top. The only piece of hardware it did not come with was the door window lip fabric holder I had to use original. Besides that it came with everything else including screws
Great top and for the money you cant beat it! It took about 2 hours to install with help. We used all the new hardware. The kit was complete. Instructions say install the top when temperatures are above 70 F. Problem its middle of winter. I got around this by drapping it over some chairs in the house with a space heater blowing on it all night. I have seen videos where they have a hard time snapping the snaps over the doors. Its no problem. You just have to have spreader bars in their relaxed position first. The only problem I had was when I installed the door windows they were so crooked doors would not shut. Turns out on my 95 YJ there is something in the doors that was keeping front window pin about an inch too high. I cut an inch off front pin on both sides and every thing was perfect. Driven in lots of rain and no leaks at all. I left my Windjammer in place since I took out back seat. This makes the cab smaller and heater gets it nice and warm in the smaller space. I also have a couple of the Top Props in mine. Top is plenty tight but my brother has a cat that loves sleeping on it. Over all, very satisfied!
worked lime a charm.
Easy instal.. Took less tham 30 min by myself. . looks great.
Looks great easy to install fits well
This top was incredibly easy to install, even for a first time Jeep owner. It's held up pretty well over the year and a half I've had it. It's pretty loud at highway speeds, but it's only irritating for the first hundred or so miles until you accept your fate. I live in eastern Ohio, and the winters can be pretty brutal, but I was still toasty warm all winter. The top comes off fully in about 10 minutes, and is just as easy to put back on.
The frame and hardware are still going strong as well. I do go easy on the snaps because I've seen them pull out of the canvas on friends' jeeps. I do occasionally spritz them with some good ole WD40, so that might help.
The windows polish up really well with a fantastic smelling petroleum based cleaner/polish that is god knows how old and some cotton rags I found in my dad's garage. It took some elbow grease, but they look better than new when I'm done with them.
The only issues I've had with it is that my door uppers hold water. The water that runs down the windows and onto the seam where the canvas starts again leaks on both sides. When it rains, my doors turn into Spice colored, door shaped water balloons. It does eventually leak out, but I've had it freeze full of water. I'm not expecting them to last much longer because of this.
Overall, I highly recommend this soft top. Despite the doors holding water, it does its job well. I'm expecting to get at least a couple more years out of it.
