Reviews for Bestop Sailcloth Replace-a-top Soft Top for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Great
I really really wanted Twill but they don't have clear windows and who wants tinted? So here I am back with original stock materials and look. Cant go wrong with best top
Bought this top to replace the top on my 97 wrangler. Excellent quality! Easy to install. Glad I spent the money on a quality top versus a cheaper brand.
Well I bought this top 'bout 10 years ago when they first came out! Finally got around to rating it, been a little busy.... The factory top lasted about six years, but I put up with it another couple of years because, well...I was busy!
So at around year 9 or so I decided to buy this top! It looked like the factory top! But it was thicker, so it had to be better! She was much quieter and looked great for around six years! Then her age started showing....the sun was drawing the windows and top up tighter'n tighter! Then the top forward zipper on the passenger side popes loose at the seam! POP! So I took a sewing needle and sewed her back shut! She held her own for another year or so then POP! The driver's side forward zipper loses her seam! Just like the other side a while before! So.... I sew her back and make another season!
Well, after twenty years and two tops I'm back at Quadratec looking for another top! For the price, if I can stretch six'er ten years outta another one of these here tops I guess I won't holler too loud!
If it wouldn't shrink so, I'd be happy to give'er FIVE stars!
Been installed for at least two years now, maybe three. Extremely snug. We have a hard time putting the top up and even snapped one of the steel latches at the windshield header. Relatively easy install accept tight. While we had the rear window rolled up for the summer it deformed where it was wrapped by the factory straps . It's still waterproof. One zipper moves easily while the drive's side is difficult. I keep them lubricated with Otis Dry Lube.
