It works. Watch a youtube video to make sure you're installing it right, there are clocked positions for given ratios, so you don't have to try to eyeball or get the connection close, you can just put the holding bracket on the right clock position and it just works.

The right gear makes your speedometer work again with over sized tires. This was the right one for me. I selected it from the chart and it was easy to install. Remember that the speedo gear housing will rotate so that your new gear makes contact with the main gear.

After upgrading from 3.07 OEM gearing to 4.10s and upsizing to 33X15 tires, this speedometer gear perfectly reset the speedometer to read correctly as checked by GPS....96 XJ with 4.10 gears and 33x12.5-15 tires. Nice to finally know how fast I am going and how far actually travelled without having to use the GPS as a primary speedometer.
