Reviews for OMIX OE Replacement Jeep Logo Dash Pad in Black for 76-86 Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler
Good fit and appears a quality product. All mounting holes matched up.
Perfect fit
works well
This looks awesome! Easy install. Make sure you get replacement fasteners for it.
Hard to find anything comparable for a replacement. Used ones are just too worn. This one does the trick.
Perfect fit. Ordee screws too.
This is the fourth time I had purchased these dashes the first time I ever submitted a review. This is why I only give it three stars otherwise it would definitely be a five-star review. The first three purchases were the gray paintable and this is the first time I have purchased the black. I do use these and all my Jeep restorations. This is the first time the mounting tabs did not line up in the stock holes. When I say they don't line up if I do mount them in the stock hose the dash is about a quarter of an inch too far to the right and does not center in the dash overlay in the speedometer section. I just needed to drill four new holes. This is the second time I have purchased it and the dash pad is bowed. Since it is a metal core you need to set it on the ground and two people can bend it straight but the dash is bowed. One other thing that is always the same in my other three I had purchased is the mounting tabs on the back are not at the correct angle. When you mount it the dash pad does not fit flush to the dash. Another thing that can be corrected by bending the tabs to the correct angle. Granted you can make this dash fit nicely and again they do look awesome but these are things that should not happen on a $200 dash. As far as looks this is probably the nicest looking reproduction item that Omix has put out. For the price that people ask for an original factory dash pad which is probably the same price as this one and not as nice looking this is definitely a good buy.
I agree with all of the other reviews that it is a great looking reproduction dash pad. I was really excited to get the dash today, however, my experience in the end was not great. Unfortunately the pad was slightly curved and when I went to gently nudge the one end towards the dash panel and set the screw, the two middle screws blew through the vinyl. So I now basically have a worthless dash pad. It is very unfortunate that the dash pad was curved in the first place and that, unlike the original, metal backing should be used to support the screws that go through the vinyl. There is good reason that you do not find original intact dash pads in older Jeeps. I would be very happy if QT provided me with a replacement dash pad, but that might be a lot to ask.
