Reviews for Rugged Ridge Cloth Seat Protectors for 76-06 Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler, Wrangler YJ, TJ & Unlimited
This cover may not work for everybody, but it did for me. I use my 99 Jeep 2 door TJ 80% of the time with the doors off. I still have the tan stock seats. I needed a cover that was cloth (cooler temperature), black (goes well with the tan interior and hides stains), thin (doesn't alter seat experience), and multiple storage options in rear of seat (I've never used the cup holders or the extra zippered storage that you can attach.) I'm replacing the ones I bought ten years ago.(Driver side, outside lower cushion entry point is tearing. Common wear and tear point for Jeeps). It's a give and take for me. Give up durability to get the parameters I wanted above. I am surprised though how long these have lasted. Hope Rugged Ridge doesn't discontinue these.
Giving 5 stars to offset the couple 1 star reviews here claiming cheap material and no durability; to be honest, they are more appropriately 4 stars, since only the rare, truly exceptional items should earn 5.
Just bought my second set of these covers-- to replace the set I bought in 2008. They lasted that long, so no-- no issues with durability. Yes, they faded with time to the point that they are now a bleached dark grey, as anything will over the course of 12 years of daily use in sun and rain. They work well, they're durable, functional--not pretty, and they certainly are an outstanding bang for the buck. Amortize $100.00 over 12 years....
Ok
Leaves too much of original covers exposed, especially high wear areas such as lower front seat.
they fit. a bit "thin" on the durability side.
These are complete crap. Poorly made and close to impossible to install. The install instruction on the product page do not match the product.
These seat covers are junky. They're cheap and not worth the $100. I have nothing to compare them to since they're my first seat covers, but I would have rather put that money towards new seats. If you drive around without doors or a top, these seat covers will suck in every drop of rain if it falls anywhere within 10 square miles of you. I have no plans for using all the pockets, but the zippers look cheap and weak and the pockets feel flimsy.
