Reviews for Bestop 51253-01 Driver Side Seat Riser for 76-95 Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler & Wrangler YJ
I have had little to no issue with theses risers. I would highly recommend them to anyone trying to upgrade there old hardware. The holes on the riser matched up to the original factory threaded openings. I had to buy new Grade 8 Bolts to fasten to the riser but other than the inconvenience of not having new bolts with the risers it was quite easy to put in.
USED ON 1989 YJ JEEP WRANGLER ISLANDER
LIFTS SEAT OK.

Excellent replacement
Good fit no issues
I read reviews of these risers sitting higher than stock, so I decided to compare seat height to a stock riser after installation. They are the same height as stock.
My stock drivers side riser did not have the back seat access feature, so this is a nice upgrade in that regard. I think they should have gone the extra mile to put some sort of rubber sleeve on the release lever. Also, of note is this functionality is initially very stiff to operate. No doubt it will need to break in. A little lubricating oil will help the hinges.
One thing that wasn't made clear in the description is the stock riser has threaded inserts to bolt on the seat sliders, but these risers do not. You will need 4 nuts to go along with your slider bolts. Also, due to this need, you will need to mount the slider to the riser BEFORE mounting to the seat. Due to this order of operation, and the adjustments of holes in the riser, this can be a little difficult to get aligned so that it bolts easily to your seat, as you will not have slider bolt accessibility once mounted to the seat.
Lastly, unlike the stock riser (which has 2 studs of the total 4 mounting points) you will need a total of 4 bolts, 2 with nuts / washers, or use a nutsert tool to make your own mounting threads in the floorboard.
Overall, I'm pleased with the product. Miles better than my rusty old risers!
easy install works well
Very stiff and sits higher than stock.
