Reviews for Crown Automotive 5ED16T3X Front Bumper for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Have not seen it yet. Supposed to be a direct replacement
Its a 4 star from me, but not because of the bumper itself. The black powder coat has a very rough texture that will mess up most attempts to paint over it, and be a massive pain to wash if you leave it be. In the end, I had to take the bumper to Maaco to get it done right and they had to strip it down to the metal. Like I said, nothing wrong with the bumper itself and its a great price, just bring your angle grinder if you want to paint it properly.
2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ, SE, I4, 4x4, 15" wheels...the one with the plastic valve cover...
Pros: Identical!...Almost identical to my OEM bumper I bent in a "fender bender."
Fast! Ordered on 1/17/2021, delivered 1/24/2021, installed same day.
Easy! Took me all of 15 minutes to install with a 1/2" ratchet and hex head.
Affordable! For $72, I can't complain at all!
Cons: Bottom bolt holes for the frame were off about 1/4" so I couldn't put the
bolts back in without drilling and tapping new holes....only reason I gave it 4/5
stars.
Overall, can't beat this right here! If you want fast, easy, looks OEM, buy this.

Bolt hole on the under side on driver’s side is slightly off so I could not insert that bolt. I kept all the bolts loose when putting them in but no matter what could not get the last one in. The top 4 and under side passenger side all went in fine.
Pretty basic
The bumper could be made from a bit heavier metal but it bolted on in minutes and was pre-drilled for end caps and bumper guards.
I bought and installed one on my 2006 lj. Fit was perfect, and went on easily. The thing I would warn you about it rust. I plan to remove it this summer, and repaint it, after only 9 months it appears to be necessary. The rust is inside the bumper.
Overall bumper was exepected quality but the top and bottom holes were off about 3/4" narrower that the frame - this is my second replacement bumper and the first one had no issues but wasn't powder coated and rusted badly. I had to cut away at lease a half inch on hole to get it on. Longer than expected installation plus the money I was trying to save was used to buy metal blades. Next time will go to another reseller and better quality.
Recieved bumper today and I am highly unsatisfied with what I received! The product description infers that you will be receiving an OEM like product (looks and functions as factory part) when in fact the only thing OEM about is that you dont need to drill your own holes. The finish is very rough and inconsistent like a bedliner paint and looks nothing like one would expect from an OEM product. Customer service rep said that the part was designed to be taken to a shop and painted to look like a OEM part, weird that's not what the description infers at all. Not to mention if that was the intent the bumper would have been primed not powder coated in a black finish. Description should of said bolts on like OEM Bumper not OEM replacement. I would not reccomend this product if you are looking for a factory look because it doesn't even look close!
It’s pretty sad that a supplier of Jeep parts can’t include attachment hardware with the replacement bumper
